If you thought Mawsynram, Meghalaya, India was the wettest place in the world, it turns out it is not. The wettest place is Puerto Lopez de Micay, Cauca, Colombia. A 31 year average shows they had an average annual rainfall total of 530.17 inches! By comparison Mawsynram, has an annual average of 500.02. Cherrapunji measured 1,041.75 inches of rain from August 1860 to July 1961. That is 86.8 feet of rain or almost 9 stories! :o That same time, July 1861 got 366 inches of rain in a month! That is 30.5 feet of rain! Those areas may Houston look like a desert.
