I've checked here a few times in the last week to see if anyone is posting about the abnormally Blue Water in Galveston. I am curious if there is a weather-related explanation for this phenomena?

The TV stations did some stories on it. You might check their websites.

That was over the Memorial Day weekend and only lasted a few days. The offshore water is starting to creep up on the shoreline again because of the southeast wind we have been having along the coast. Definitely not blue but clear water is starting to mix in good. Nothing out of the ordinary down there when we have a constant southeast wind which settles the sand along the sand bars.

I saw pictures, again this morning, of the blue/clear water around the pleasure pier. I had read someone's explanation that the clear water around Memorial Day was caused by Hurricane Alberto's track. Given that there isn't any type of tropical disturbance, this week, I was just curious if there was another reasonable theory for this second episode. :)
