Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
1050 AM CDT Fri Aug 31 2018

.NEAR TERM [Through Today]...

Other than a strong shower that dumped 1.1" of rain here at the
office, there has not been much shower and thunderstorm activity.
There is still a gradient in moisture from along the coast inland
with higher moisture along the coast. The main forecast update was
to adjust PoPs to align with the moisture a little more. It will
take some day time heating for convective temps in the low 90s to
be reached. Isolated convection should become more established
early this afternoon and a again mainly Houston southward.
