.AVIATION...
Southeastern Texas is within that 12 hour window of experiencing
a cold frontal passage. This overnight boundary passage will
produce periods of showers with gusty winds. The lowest ceilings
will likely stick in the MVFR category and occur from around
midnight through the pre-dawn hours. The tight offshore post-
frontal pressure gradient in association with cold air advection
will create 8 to 12 hours of strong north winds with frequent
gusts...more pronounced winds persisting into the afternoon hours
along the immediate coastline. 31

72f outside right now. Not bad for January - I’ll take it!
Reading the afternoon AFD (it came early), we may not even get a freeze from this week’s front. Wouldn’t that be something considering what they have up north?

I see Brooks Garner tweeting about an "Arctic Blast" arriving tomorrow. I don't know, but lows in the mid to upper 30s doesn't seem like Arctic air, to me. It's only about 8 deg below normal. The Midwest is seeing the Arctic blast, where temps may drop below -30F. Upper 30s to upper 40s is an average winter cold front for Houston. Big warm-up starting Friday - 70s and maybe close to 80 degrees.

I mean the cold air is coming from the artic and even though it is a glancing blow, highs will struggle to get out of the 40s. The main thing that is keeping temperatures from being in the 20s for lows is cloud cover and timing of the front. I would still call it an artic blast even if it isn't a direct hit.wxman57 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 3:47 pm I see Brooks Garner tweeting about an "Arctic Blast" arriving tomorrow. You probably will be good unless you are the far northern parts of SE Texas where temperatures could get below freezing for a couple hours.

Looks like the rain will hold off until after practice...
NWS has me at 34 tonight and 33 tomorrow night. Wxunderground App shows 34 both nights.
