HRRR shows several hours of frozen precip (possibly heavy at times) all the way down to I-10. It also looks like models underestimated the cold air advection and are playing catch up since last night. If the trend continues i wouldn't be surprised to see Harris county added to the Winter Weather Advisory.

I'd still like to see that 540 thickness line a little further south, but I think the snow is performing better than the models are showing. It's a small touch cooler - just enough it seems.

The HRRR has several hours of mix precip starting late afternoon along the I-10 corridor, including Metro Houston.

For those headed this way, you might try Grimes County or Caldwell on the other side. Maybe Hearne. Just a touch of UHI may be keeping it mixed IMBY instead of all snow.

The precip has cooled the air down to 33-34°F range here.

Massive snowline just east of Caldwell. Headed this way. Fingers crossed!
