What part of Angleton are you in? I'm just outside of town on the southside and after a quick 5 min sleet storm it's like walking on eggshells outside.

I'm absolutely baffled right now. Just had either hail or really large chunks of sleet. Crazy!!

Question — is it normal for snow to accumulate on brick and rooftops but not on grass? Always thought grass was among first surfaces to be coated.

Sky lit up in blue as a transformer blew and power went out across the street from me. Highway 99 pitch black and all the stores along the feeder. Wind is howling through my doors and windows are just getting pelted with sleet. If I was in a coma and I was just waking up in my bed, I'd think it was August and a hurricane was moving through (without looking out the window of course). This event is going to produce a lot of future meteorologist. Allison and Ike is what did it for me.

It’s more like sleet out there. Not really snow. At least not here.

No, that means you’re seeing sleet. If it was snow, it would be uniformly covering the grassy surfaces. I think some people in here are thinking they’re seeing snow when they’re actually seeing extremely tiny sleet pellets. Also if you walk outside and can hear the precip hitting your jacket or other objects, then it’s not snow.
