Kingwood36 I think next monday or so
Late Saturday/early Sunday.
The models are starting to become more consistent on what would be the strongest front of the season so far and a true blue northern.Possibly bringing our first real freeze of the season.(NOTE: should be a quick shot of arctic air lasting a few days, not looking at a long duration event). Another interesting thing to note is that models are also showing a potent storm system moving in behind the front.Such a setup could produce a winter storm in Texas.Things could get interesting in the northern half of the state if the trends continue. We would need the storm system to dig further to the south and or become negatively tilted to get any wintry precip down here near the gulf though.Something to watch for sure though.
On Sunday the models are showing potential that we may struggle to get out of the 30’s for highs. On Saturday before the front we should be in the low to mid 80’s. Still not sold yet though. Need a few more model runs for consistency. Also, it’s fairly progressive. By next Tuesday/Wednesday we’re back to near normal temps and possibly above normal after that. So it’s only going to last maybe 3 days tops.

Plz tell me with this week's front it be another highs in the 50s and 60s again
It’s a possibility. Don’t think it’ll be in the 60’s though.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 7:59 pm Plz tell me with this week's front it be another highs in the 50s and 60s again
The 12z GFS came in a bit colder. It’s now showing a freeze possible on Sunday and Monday mornings with highs on Sunday only in the low to mid 40’s and highs on Monday in the mid to upper 40’s. On Sunday the wind chills could be pretty brutal, especially in the morning.

sambucol highs looks to be in the low to mid 40’s for SE Texas next sunday and monday
Sounds great!
As I sit out on the patio on this fine evening, next to the pool heated to 90….I can say I’m not looking forward to the cold front. Other than a lack of sunshine, this has been a most enjoyable holiday break of mild weather. Walks every day. Kids playing outside. It’s been great

Sambucol Yep! Looking forward to these cold temps, this warm weather pattern has been awful, bring on the arctic air!
It now appears there will be another front coming in around January 7th which is next Friday. The latest Euro doesn’t show it but it has support from the GFS/GEFS. The Euro has been showing it off and on.
