August 2022
This system is still very disorganized. Not stacked at all. I see a LLC south of Lake Charles and a mid-level center further offshore south of Vermilion Bay. Both don’t have much convection to speak of.

The GFS continues to hint at another gulf system next week, something to watch for sure as a CCKW passage next week could help to spark things
Time to look for some ensemble support.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 12:00 am The GFS continues to hint at another gulf system next week, something to watch for sure as a CCKW passage next week could help to spark things
Wow. Jilted again. My long advertised 70% chance of rain for today just got whacked down to only 30%!!
There is a good chance my only rain from this system came on Wednesday. Another colossal bust. Looks like I’ll be watering this weekend again. SMH. I thought we were better than this in 2022.
Don’t ever believe the word “finally”- it’s a trap!
I’m going back to bed.

I’m literally getting sick of this.

At least it is going into an area that needs rain instead of Louisiana again!
This is true. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that we'll be on the east/dirty side of the trough and get left with scraps, if that. We've got to be the only place in the basin where this happens. There is always a scientific explanation, but it's draining and feels like a curse when it happens over and over again.TexasBreeze wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 10:02 am At least it is going into an area that needs rain instead of Louisiana again!
I'll be dragging my sprinklers around again too. These forecasts could not have been more wrong.
Pressure cooker looks to setup shop again Sunday till next weekend.
It just blows me away that we're on the dirty side of a tropical disturbance just off our coast in mid August and we're barely even getting some cloud cover from it.
Luckily got caught in one of the small rain bands. Maybe can rack up some today since I got nothing the last few days.

This will be a transitory high, its only going to be here for 2-3 days and the. it moves off, models are in agreement on a front moving into our area late week
We’re not really too far away from it. Typically when a system goes towards CC, we get plenty of rain from it. It’s just this system (for whatever reason) has most of its convection on the south side.
Yep, exactly. After Thursday we could be done with the upper 90’s to low 100’s till next summer. Huge pattern change coming. So many Nancy’s on here lol but I don’t blame them. This summer has turned most of us all into Nancy’s and Karen’sStratton20 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 2:30 pm This will be a transitory high, its only going to be here for 2-3 days and the. it moves off, models are in agreement on a front moving into our area late week

Cpv17 I could agree more! This pattern change is coming, below normal temps favored and above normal precip, man even the 12z runs of all the global models look great for precipitation over the next 10* days, cant wait for fall to be here

Summer in Houston sucks during the best years. 2022 was up there in the dreadful category.
