It’s actually been raining here this morning more than I thought it would. Just had a downpour for a good 5-10 minutes and now the HRRR is giving me 2” of rain over the next 48 hours. Looks to setup along the 59 corridor into Houston and then follow I-10 into Beaumont.

Already over 1” in Beaumont after our flood event 4 days ago. standing water already back in the yard with the ground being so saturated here. Back in a flood watch I see. I don’t remember getting this much rain in January before. This is almost spring like…

Nearing 3” now for today. Almost 7” for the week. Sheesh! Looking at NWS, looks like the entire week will be a washout.

It is just pouring here. Lots of thunder and lightning. No wind. It reminds me of a good old fashioned summer thunderstorm in Florida.

So far today I’ve picked up 1.45”. That brings my monthly total up to 5”.

Hello y'all! Similar weather here in Starkville compared to Southeast Texas. Scattered showers are expected the rest of today. Currently 50 degrees and raining. This semester is already much wetter compared to the fall semester. Right now, I am expecting average to above-average rainfall for this spring. The weather pattern this winter is much more active compared to last winter, and that often translates into spring especially since ENSO is breaking out of La Nina.

It looks like the front will be coming in this evening or early tomorrow morning. Expect a significant drop off in temps tomorrow compared to today.

Local met in Bmt said the front wont make it all the way through Beaumont but it will in Houston. Is this front not expected to make it into the gulf? My lowest low on NWS for the next 7 day is 51. 🤷🏼 Houston low this week of 46. Not much of a front. Arctic to me means 20-30s for lows and highs in the 30-40s. 51? That’s spring time shower temps.
