No torch, for this area anyway. Certainly warmer. It may not feel much like winter. Winter is progged to return pretty quickly. My family in Oklahoma got snow out of this event. Folks, seldom do we see an extended deep freeze in our area.

Models are hinting at the polar vortex weakening mid january , i definitely expect a return to very cold weather after a brief 1-2 week warm up

Yeah, people forget it’s hard to stay cold down here.biggerbyte wrote: ↑Sun Dec 25, 2022 12:52 pm No torch, for this area anyway. Certainly warmer. It may not feel much like winter. Our average high is in the 60s in Winter.
My favorite Winters are classic Nino, qbo favorable winters.
Never gets much warmer than the 50s and several events in the 30s and 40s with precip present.

Monday afternoon might be interesting around here. Especially east of 45 and north of 10 as of right now.
Things will start to get real again about the 13th.sambucol wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 10:49 am Pow Ponder on the Polar Vortex

My belief is we have a very real shot at winter weather the last week of January and first week of February based on what I see in the ensembles, MJO and EPO/WPO.
This setup and the hints in weeks 3-4 is astonishingly similar to the 2011 storm that gave us ice and DFW a week long winter storm leading up to the Super Bowl

It was like that last night during the New Year celebration. I could hear fireworks everywhere but there was so much fog I couldn't see anythingCrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 9:21 am A bit froggy this morning in northern Brazoria county.

This next rain event tomorrow into Tuesday will once again favor the eastern part of the viewing area. Areas west of 45 might not even get anything. Beaumont could once again get another solid round of rain.

This weather is for Latin America. I won’t go outside today because of the weather.
If it was 60 or colder, then it would be nice.

What we had last week was tremendously better. It’s not even close. We had sunny clear blue skies last week at this time with temps in the mid to upper 40’s.CrashTestDummy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 1:12 pmBeats the snot out of what it was like this time last week!!
