.AVIATION...
(18Z TAF Issuance)
Issued at 1128 AM CST Thu Feb 2 2023

Rain chances will steadily diminish this afternoon, but IFR cigs
will remain for most of the TAF period. High pressure moving in
tomorrow from the north will help clear skies for our northern
sites around 10Z, but will be slower to improve for IAH and south.
Most of the remaining sites will be VFR by 15-18Z tomorrow.

Absolutely spectacular. Despite the floods in Cali, it's really good to see our magnificent Western land receive the snow and rain it has desperately needed.

Nothing puts me more at ease than standing on top of a mountain in all its elements.

Now, my legs, are a different story right now. Several days of altitude and moguls and carving up the side of a mountain have made me sore. That run today in the rain was a beating.

Based on long range guidance and the operational models, i think february will be at most near normal in terms of temps, already seeing a signal in the EPS guidance as well as the OP GFS that winter isnt done with us yet

I haven’t either. I haven’t even been on Storm2k since maybe Sunday. Things were looking pretty bleak a few days ago so I stopped looking at the models and reading Cosgroves post and watching Pow Ponders videos. Figured winter was pretty much over with.

Yeah i think the first two weeks are going to be mild, but i think after the 15th we should see a return to colder weather, now im not saying we are going to see another major arctic outbreak, odds of that happening are slim, but I definitely see a flip coming mid month

Had a low of 32. Slightly lower than forecast. I didn’t cover anything, hopefully the ti plants are OK

Edit: garden is fine. No leaf burn detected. The garden has an overhead canopy for some protection so it was probably just warm enough.
