Hey Gang. Just a reminder that we need your help to keep the forum up and running. If you want to keep Wx Infinity operational, we need your help with donations. No matter how small, every dollar helps with the $750 annual expenses that is required to maintain the bills associated with keeping our weather community up and running. Check out the pinned thread for Donations for instructions for making donations. Thank you in advance for keeping us live and up running!

Yep - we're committed to deepening the cold layer! Hoping to extract some of the coastal low moisture. Freezing mist has begun. We did have a few micro flakes and tiny sleet this afternoon.

Inexcusable and a reminder for all that renewables will only get you so far…
Due to continued freezing temperatures, very high demand, and unseasonably low wind, operating reserves are expected to be low during the morning hours of Monday, January 15, prior to the solar ramp up. As a result, ERCOT is asking Texans to conserve electricity use, if safe to do so, Monday, January 15, from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. CT. ERCOT is expecting similar conditions on Tuesday, January 16, and will continue to closely monitor conditions and keep the public informed through our communication channels.

From jeff
Updated ice accumulation amounts tonight through Monday evening.
Generally very light amounts over much of the area from freezing drizzle/mist.
Use caution on bridges and overpasses and especially the higher flyover ramps.
Greatest chances for accumulation and travel impacts remain off to the north and west, but a few icy patches are possible into the coastal counties.

They’ve won plenty of super bowls though! At least you have the Stros too!
Sitting at 34.9 IMBY now and dropping quick. Not a cloud in the sky from what I can tell. Temps will continue to drop until when/if moisture shows up. Could be interesting tomorrow morning

Sitting on my back porch with a bourbon and cigar watching a friend coach the Lions, hopefully to a NFC championship.
Gotta fly out tomorrow to KC.
Have I told you how much I love this weather. Feels so good.
