“ Most likely amounts currently fall between a trace and 2". However, depending on a potential mesoscale banded snow setup impacting localized areas, it`s possible we could see a few
higher end amounts.”

Is it still expected that roads should be clear during the day Monday in the Houston area?
Did I see that this system is moving east? We started at 6 inches now down to 2. By the time Tuesday gets here, who knows. In Tomball.

NAM 12kz is in, mid 20’s when precipitation is falling, but its just sleet/ ice, no snow, warm nose is strong
Coastal low needs to trend west.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 8:48 pm NAM 12kz is in, mid 20’s when precipitation is falling, but its just sleet/ ice, no snow, warm nose is strong

models are really backing off on snow across here, now looking more like a sleet/ ice storm unfortunately
ICON looked good earlier. GFS looks flat awful, CMC has good precip for us, but all sleet and freezing rain.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 10:19 pm models are really backing off on snow across here, now looking more like a sleet/ ice storm unfortunately

Folks, there is a lot of hype going on right now. Keep an open mind. One thing to consider is the possibility of this not being a snow event, or at least not just.. Think warm nose and freezing rain. I'd rather get nothing. Ice is no picnic.
Anyway, a lot of people are winding themselves up like a top. If this event never unfolds be prepared for that unwind we get here nearly every winter.
I'll leave it there for now

That warm nose popping up tonight on the models Smh. I was really thinking we would get the snow. Don't want no ice storm.
I'm pretty ignorant about the weather overall. So I'm assuming this "warm nose" everybody is referencing means this could end being an ice storm vs snow?
