79°F but 44°DP so I'll allow it. A bit of a southerly breeze. High clouds but mostly sunny The A/C could cut on though.

It costs a lot less to heat the house than cool it.

Yesterday was 76° Hi, 37°F low. Crystal blue skies. Not a cloud. No A/C or heat running. A few windows open. Perfection.

Not panicked yet, but beginning to worry about a drought. Warm, sunny. No rain is in the foreseeable forecast. I hate running the College Station water this early in the season, especially with all the sodium and Ca - carbonate in it. It's poison.

Well, every major model shows storm system after storm system miss SE Tx entirely. Either the tail end of convection stops around Huntsville, or it gets ramped up as soon as it nears the Tx/La border.
The only prayer any of the major models give us is around the 3/24-3/25 timeframe.
I'm starting to worry, as well.

We’re gonna be needing some rain… plus all these crazy winds are really gonna dry things out.

We received 1-2 inches of rain here on Saturday, so that should help at least a little with the wildfire threat Friday. The next big rain maker/ severe wx here may be around the 25th of the month if some of the long range guidance is correct.Hopefully more widely distributed rains will come for the state when the rainy season starts in April. At least for SE Texas if the Spring doesn't pan out you still have the possibility of a wet Summer if the seabreeze and SE return flow is active.

The background state looks to become more neutral this Summer so that may help also.With maybe an transition to El Nino being possible by next Fall/Winter.

At 658 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles southwest of Elkhart to Centerville to
Hearne. Movement was east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Latexo, Madisonville, Wixon Valley, Austonio, Bedias, Grapeland,
Pennington, North Zulch, Weches, Normangee, Kurten, Lovelady, Roans
Prairie, Kennard, Iola, Crockett, Centralia, and Trinity.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
southeastern Texas.
