GFS is a bit more robust with cold next weekend here. CMC and Euro are more zonal flow and eastward descent.

OK. The GFS 18z caved. We'll see. I expect more seasonable than warm coming into Christmas week.

In what way did the GFS 18z cave?

Folks, absolutely nothing has changed. The very cold weather stays well North and Northeast of our area. Euro is the one to watch right now. GFS has/had wish casters drooling. This holds true for the foreseeable future. Sorry if you are disappointed.

Happens every year. If I had a dollar for every time someone brings up 1983 or 1899…it’s always the same offenders too.

I remember that snow event in 2017, hope we get another one down the road! Heck give me half a foot of snow on the ground, and 20’s for a couple of days , and i’ll ill be happy!

1899 and 1983 are outliers.

I remember it well. About 3-4 inches of snow in our front yard. It had been in the 70s a few days before, so snow stuck to the grass and not so much on the sidewalks and street.

Here it is - I had just put up Christmas lights...

looks like the pattern is rapidly changing back to a more zonal flow through the rest of the year. In other words, out of luck for cold weather lovers.

36° this morning with some frost on the rooftops. We escape another freeze - I’m good with that.

After the polar vortex chunks breeze through, more zonal flow as I predicted. The polar vortex has been chopped up and remnants are hitting the NE and east coast as clippers.

We'll barely see a reinforcing effect this Sunday.

On the positive side, enjoy the sunshine and today's 30.8°F low at the casa. DP = 38°. Light winds. Low 50s, high in the mid 60s. It's not a 2017 winter wonderland day but it is a Chamber of Commerce day. No snow, but no cold rain either. Not a cloud in the sky. Give me this all year long. No A/C, no sprinklers. TG.

Friday and Saturday will be a little warmer than I'd like, but the DP will remain relatively low. Long-term looks like a La Nina winter. Low chance of rain (save it for the summer).

It feels actually like a north Florida/Gainesville January over the next 2 weeks. No complaints. Hopefully, the polar vortex gets it act together for January.

Got a light one up here, but that comes with the territory. No mas on anything tropical or that needs acidic soil!
