I mean that warm up is not unexpected , early January warm up as we are in a transition period before a - EPO/ AO/ + PNA / -NAO ( west based) pattern takes shape starting week 2 in january, more sustained cold comes later, but for now this weather is absolutely delightful!

Getting more excited about that January 9th/10th and onward through the end of January.
Blocking over the top from Alaska to Greenland. Sign me up. We need a good cool to cold 2-3 weeks.

I'm more confident in the temp. drop than duration with eastward tendencies (La Nina).Cpv17 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 12:38 pmYep, potentially, I’m not too confident yet though.DoctorMu wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 12:33 pmBig changes potentially moving our way around mid-month.MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 12:26 pm Getting more excited about that January 9th/10th and onward through the end of January.

Just felt some sleet mixed with light rain at the casa.
I'm fixing up some Christmas lawn decorations (angel, Nativity scene) - we have them up through the 12 days of Christmas. Some neighbors put up decorations and lights before Thanksgiving and take them down the day after Christmas. All is secure now.

Nice returns on the radar. If we could only get a cold column of precip. going. The DP is low enough...

There's snow and ice from the NM -TX border to about Burnett in the Hill Country.
