Morning to all

My station here in League City has recorded a wind gust of 35 mph so far. I've got Allison House feed on GR3 radar as well and it looks like the squall line is building North as well towards Houston area with nice bowing features. It also shows a pretty much definite TVS/waterspout offshore waters...should be a fun ride with very strong straight line winds and some hail mixed in here and there. Also, Conroe showing 40 degrees and I've got 55 still

Good morning, everybody.

Well, it looks like things are turning out pretty much as anticipated for Texas this morning. Rain is the story for the most part, and will continue to be so. Temps are cold, but not frigid. I see nothing to suggest that the rain and storms will not be the big story through Sunday night. As we head into Monday morning.. Some folks will be chilly enough in northern areas of S.E. Texas to get some mixing. If you live north and east from there as well, I would watch for chances for minor winter precip. Some light icing for some is possible. ATM, this is not going to be a big winter weather event, guys. Not for Texas, at least. We should not be hyping it up to be anything more than it is. We'll look at it later today, but there simply is currently nothing to indicate a big problem with winter weather.

I'm hoping that folks in our area can at least see a flake of snow, or some sleet/mix before this is all said and done this go round. It sure would be nice. Mid. week looks interesting too. We'll just have to watch it and see. I am not forecasting it right now. You folks north should just pay attention until Monday night when this is all said and done. Texas weather can change on a dime and bring the unexpected.

Most of Brazoria county under the warning right now. Needless to say, I will be tracking every part of this storm system and watching to see what happens. Very pleased with the guys that helped me overnight with the sudden severe wx threat. Great job.

What is the pink and orange colored precipitation on the radar in Okalahoma and Arkansas, sleet and freezing rain? There is also some purple colored precipitation in parts of northern Lousiana.

After a chilly week, we start a pretty good warm up friday. Looking out 15 days I still do.t see any secondary surges of arctic air. Fairly wet january for a La Nina year.

...just over .56" so far L City and recorded 35 mph wind gust.

SRain or others...what are peoples thoughts on mid-week and the modeled cooler surge coming down? Meteo's seem to suggest some precip and poss SW moving through, but looks lower levels relatively dry.
