As of right now, it would appear that east tx, sw Louisiana would look like the best bet for flooding rains this morning. Need to watch for backbuilding.

Rain, thunder and lightning here at the house this morning. Power is blinking too.

Yard flooded with just this heavy rainfall in 10 mins.

Will we see much more rain today? How is the weekend forecast looking? Should I plan on more rain?

Storms moving into southwest Harris co. just put down .75" in 15min at Keegans bayou-Keegan rd. Nice looking outflow boundary moving north across I-10 now could fire more storms on the north side soon. At least these storms are moving.

Already had one storm this morning. Probably picked up around 1/2 inch. I'm also glad these storms have more motion with them, just hoping an east-west oriented band doesn't set-up.

On a side note. While running an errand I noticed that the San Jacinto River at US59 is WAY out of its banks and will likely keep rising.

I know it's almost impossible to forecast, but I wonder what will happen over the course of today with the flooded areas in NW Harris & South Montgomery. The band over Harris County is inching north with the outflow, and bands to the north are forming and pushing to the south. I hope it doesn't converge into one big complex over the flooded areas.

Also, looking south from Downtown, I see blue sky. Crazy.

It hasn't rained here at all today...the skies got a bit dark for awhile and I heard claps of thunder, but never rained...It is cloudy here but I can see the sun....I agree it is crazy!! Weather always has a mind of its own, that's for sure!

Here on the northwest side any rain that falls causes ponding on road ways. At my house in cypress I have received 9.3 inches of rain since sunday.

The cells are popping up quickly here up north... they each pulse up and down over the course of a few minutes. Movement is clearly toward the south...so yeah, there could be quite a dumping when they run into that stuff in Harris County.

The convection to our north will be moving into a rain cooled air masses, but for the time being the convection actually appears to be strengthening/organizing.

I know most of you are weather loving people and would love to keep the same pattern going. But seriously, when will it dry out and turn hot again? I am one of those weird people who love sunshine and the ability to do things outdoors. Right now, my business is at a standstill and I know others are in the same boat.

When do the promets think the pattern will shift back to being summer?

Not until next week:

From NWS:
MAIN CONCERN FOR THIS FORECAST REMAINS THE POTENTIAL FOR
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL ACROSS THE REGION OVER THE WEEKEND. BOTH THE
ECMWF AND GFS RUNS FROM THIS MORNING BEGIN TO DRIFT THE UPPER
LEVEL WEAKNESS BACK TO THE WEST AND HAVE IT OVERHEAD BY LATE
SATURDAY. STILL THINK THAT SATURDAY WILL BE A RELATIVELY DRIER DAY
FOR MUCH OF THE REGION WITH THE HEAVIEST TOTALS MAINLY ACROSS OUR
EASTERN COUNTIES BUT WILL CARRY CHANCE POPS AREAWIDE THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON. WILL KEEP CHANCE POPS IN FOR SUNDAY AS WELL BUT THESE
MAY NEED TO BE RAISED AS THE TROUGH CONTINUES TO TRANSIT THE
REGION.
