Should Our Weather Community Have Separate Threads For Regional And SE Texas Discussions?

Yes. It would be easier to find local information.

It makes no difference. I can find the information that I am looking for rather easily.

There as been a lot of feedback both for and against splitting our Monthly Discussion Topics on our main page. All of our members are valuable and it is you, our members that has made our weather community so popular. Take a moment and vote your choice. It is our goal to meet the needs of all our members and those that follow our postings. This poll will run for the next 30 days. Make your opinions known! ;)

I prefer the one thread. So far, it's been working-out well and it reads like a book. I hate navigating duplicate/multiple threads for what is often related information. It's also much better for archiving purposes when reveiwing closed/historical threads.

Hard to tell with only 13 votes. I believe it is a good idea to have local weather posted so it is easily accessed. We are, after all a network TV station weather forum. Folks should be able to check the weather for the area without having to read about weather conditions hundreds of miles away. For folks that want to discuss weather events in general for fun and exchange of information, the rest of the topics are there. Having a thread for local weather seems like a no brainer...and maybe more folks will use the forum.

I voted for 1 thread. It's not like we have the kind of traffic here that S2K has, and I'm not going to post in 2 threads about a weather pattern that is affecting more than just the local SE TX area.

I vote one thread only. Not nearly enough traffic here for two separate threads. Most of what happens out west usually affects the Houston area anyway...I like to read what is upstream in the regular monthly thread.

Maybe we should have a statistical and weather history section. 8-) ;)

I would like only 1 thread multiple are hard to keep up. I would like to see a thread for the PRO Mets to post in though.

Everyone is different and will have different opinions. But like some have already stated, it's easier to have everything on one forum. Yes, we have some folks in Central TX (including myself), some further South in TX, some in far northern part of TX, and even Harpman out in New Orleans. However, like Ted mentioned, usually whatever happens out west will affect us in some way or form. During a busy weather day, this forum gets anywhere from 30-80 "online users/guest" and it would be easier to just have everything in one forum, because my best guess is, if someone is checking out the "local" thread, they are going to check out the "regional" as well... besides maybe a few folks.
But that's just my two cents.

I have always been a fan of one thread to represent this region. I know many individuals come on here to check out local information but at the same time this forum is more than just a forum to check the latest weather forecast. I look at it as a tool to help expand knowledge and that is a lot harder when you have two topics going. Plus with our area being downstream of central/ North Texas, it helps to know what is going on up there first to better adjust what is going to happen down here locally.

The poll has been running since February 27th and 23 members have voted. As of today the poll is a two to one favorite to have one thread covering our Region for each month. We'll give folks a few more days to vote if they would like to. One point I will make is since the latest platform upgrade, KHOU.com is available for everyone to view and a Weather tab is located at the top. The KHOU Weather Team updates the local forecast daily.
