man, that would be one of the dream teams of storm chasing. :)

Howie Blustein was on most of the tornado specials/videos i watched as a kid, Josh Wurman was the one who lead the TIV around in the first season of Storm Chasers from the DOW, and Karen was the girl in the truck with him most of the time.

Upper Air analysis suggests a 105 kt jet streak at 500mb over NM at this time. Supercells appear to be very likely this afternoon.

Getting concerned that this may well be like May 1999 where an EF5 struck Moore, OK.

I was living in northern OK during that time. Was very scary to watch the F5 tornado head to OKC/Moore where a lot of my relatives and friends live (318 mph winds were recorded with this tornado). Also, I will never forget Gary England on TV telling everyone that you need to be BELOW ground to survive this tornado. Some of those killed were found in their interior bathrooms/bathtubs. Let's hope today is not a repeat of what happened on May 3, 1999.

Vortex 2 sounding from Mannford OK at 1730z shows a strong cap...but a tremendous potential positive area in the hail growth region.

"We did a special 18Z Raob. The sounding indicated that the Cap is very strong. It will be extremely difficult to break (this far south.")

Great Base Velocity shot of the tornado near Medford. Notice the spiraling bands of velocity into the tornado.

Getting concerned for areas S and W of OKC. That area looks very worrisome as the afternoon/evening progresses and moves E.
