I've been hearing increasing chatter about the potential for an El Nino on the horizon. This would have a definite affect on tropical season 2014. I know it's a ways off and the likelihood is small but thought I'd just throw that out there.

There has not been an El Nino since 2010.
I have seen active hurricane season during an El Nino. 1969 and 2004 come to mind.
The ENSO Precipitation Index (ESPI) for the last 30 days is 0.18

ESPI has been positive and if it maintains this for the next few months, El Nino is possible.
