Montgomery County actually has a better chance of strong storms than Harris, due to the activity from today. The greatest threat for severe weather tonight is counties south that are still very unstable. Will you see rain, thunder and lightning, and some wind gusts anyway. The answer is yes. I still would have issued a severe storm watch for some of s.e. Texas. I also agree with another poster that 60% rain chances for tonight are a bit on the low side.

Looks as if they are losing some of thier intensity...which is fine by me...we don't need storms...nice overnight rains are the perfect fix for the dry hot days we have seen lately. Trees really need it...

I notice some storms forming from the GOM. Looks like the storms are reforming as they head towards us.

Part of the line that will move through my area has really diminished in intensity. Lame... I didn't even see any rainfall today, even though some heavy storms passed just to my west. Hopefully the intensification occuring across Western Harris County will push its way northward a bit.

Those of you along and south of IH-10 are definitely in position to see a good heavy dowpour out of this

&&

.AVIATION...
BROKEN LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS THE MAJORITY OF OUR HUBS
THROUGH 08Z. EXPECT BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND WINDS IN GUST TO 40
MPH WITH THIS LINE AS IT PASSES OFF TO THE EAST AT 25-35 MPH.
EARLY MORNING STABILIZATION (IN POSSIBLE -SHRA SHIELD) WILL NOT
LAST LONG AS ANOTHER ROUND (OR TWO) OF CONVECTION ROLLS THROUGH
DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS. THE BETTER PERFORMING GUIDANCE...IF
GAUGED BY TONIGHT`S ACTIVITY...HAS HIGHER RAIN AMOUNTS SOUTH OF
THE I-10 CORRIDOR AND POINTS EAST...SHIFTING SOUTHEASTWARD DURING
MID-DAY
. THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE UPPER TROUGH AS THIS LATEST MCS
DISSOLVES WITHIN IT...WILL SET-UP A POSSIBLE WET SITUATION AS THE
CONVERGENT EASTERN SIDE OF TROF AXIS LAYS OVER THE TEXAS COAST
LINE. EITHER WAY...TIMING OF EVENTUAL CONVECTION BEST HANDLED BY
TEMPOS IN SHORT TERM...PROB30S PAST 12 HOURS

There was a hint of a meso low developing Wharton county. That may have delayed eastward progress a bit.
