Not really silly, just my opinion and yours differ on what we find exciting in weather.

Then move.

You know what, redneck?

With all due respect, we can go back and read YOUR post after the "big" snow in December and listen to you moan and groan about the fact that you did not get what was forecasted. You were quite upset, as a matter of fact.

It is an opinion. Do we have to be so rude to people who has a different one? You griped about that snow too.. Why didn't YOU move?

Geez!!!

Hey, can one of the mods look into why I am having to click on submit twice, sometimes three or more times in order to post my comments?

Thanks, fellows.. :)

Thank you for the offer, wxman57. That beach and water does look very serene and picturesque. 8-)

Ugh, we were supposed to get a couple of inches at least here in Tyler, but right now it's all rain (it was snowing early this morning though). Will it turn to snow later, or are we out of it?

From the HPC RE 12Z NAM...

12Z NAM EVALUATION

ANY INITIALIZATION ERRORS WITH THE NAM DO NOT APPEAR TO
SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT ITS FORECAST.

...SOUTHERN STREAM SHORTWAVE MOVING ACROSS SOUTHERN
PLAINS/SOUTHEAST...TONIGHT THRU SAT NIGHT.

WITH COLD AIRMASS IN PLACE...POTENT SHORTWAVE AND SFC CYCLOGENESIS
TAKE AN UNUSUAL SOUTHERN STORM TRACK...THROUGH THE GULF
COAST...DEEP SOUTH AND CENTRAL FLORIDA.

OVERALL...THE 12Z NAM IS WELL WITHIN THE GUIDANCE SPREAD FOR
DEPICTION OF THE UPCOMING EVENTS IN THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND DEEP
SOUTH. ITS TREND OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS HAS SPED UP...YET REMAINS
SLOWER THAN THE 06Z/GFS-00Z/ECMWF. 12Z NAM SOLUTION AT H7 IS
SIMILAR TO THE OTHER GUIDANCE THROUGH 13/12Z ACRS THE NRN GOMEX
AND IN BETWEEN THE 06Z/GFS AND 00Z/ECMWF FOR SPEED/DEPTH WITH THE
H5 TROUGH AXIS. AT THE SURFACE...ITS 1006MB SFC LOW ON FRI/12Z IS
SIMILAR TO THE 00Z/CANADIAN WITH RESPECT TO STRENGTH BUT LEANS
CLOSER TO THE 00Z/ECMWF TRACK PROGRESSION ACROSS THE FL PENINSULA
AROUND 13/00Z.

Ok, you're in. Just checked expedia.com - That'll be $3118 for a LAX-Tahiti round trip ticket.

12Z GFS coming in. Nothing too exciting for us through the next 7 days. Just more cold.

There's a feature on the forum that can be set to "on" which is supposed to give you the option of changing your post if someone else posts a new comment between the time you click "Reply", type your post, and hit "Submit". So if someone else posts during that time, you'll be sent back to the "Submit" screen. The S2K forum was set up like that initially, but when things got really active it sometimes took quite a few hits of the "Submit" button to get your post uploaded. They (S2K) eventually turned that feature off.

I've not noticed that problem. The old board was notorious for that due to Belo's busy servers. However these servers are a 'fur' distance from Belo. Anyone else having same?

Will the atmosphere cool down in order to provide us snow here in Brazos County anytime today, this afternoon, evening, and tomorrow morning? They have issued winter adviseries for Madison, Houston, Trinty counties, etc. Am I just wishing for nothing? I really, really want to see some snow on the ground. Can anyone give details about the possibilities of what might happen today? It has been raining very steady and at times heavy with some sleet and snow mixed in and we are holding in the 37-38 degree range.

The guidance is trending colder than previously progged. The Upper Low has really always been the real key for any wintry weather for us IMHO. The sleet yesterday was just a teaser. Notice what HGX mentioned in the morning Update...

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
944 AM CST THU FEB 11 2010

.UPDATE...
SEE MORNING UPDATE BELOW.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
MADE A FEW CHANGES TO THE CURRENT FORECAST PACKAGE. 12Z NAM COMING
IN A BIT COLDER. FORECAST SOUNDINGS OVER THE NORTHEASTERN ZONES
SUGGEST A RAIN/SNOW MIX CHANGING OVER TO ALL SNOW BEFORE ENDING
AROUND 09Z. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE
SIX NORTHEASTERN COUNTIES FROM 03Z THROUGH 12Z.
OVER THE REST OF
THE CWA...RAIN WILL CONTINUE FOR THE REST OF TODAY AND TONIGHT.
LATE TODAY...JET DYNAMICS INCREASE AS SE TEXAS WILL LIE IN A LEFT
FRONT QUAD. THIS WILL ENHANCE LIFT. 850 MB CONVERGENCE PEAKS
BETWEEN 00-03Z OVER THE WESTERN ZONES AND AROUND 06Z OVER THE
NORTHEAST ZONES. HAVE NOT MENTIONED THUNDER IN THE ZONES BUT SOME
COLD AIR ALOFT ASSOCIATED WITH A POTENT 500 MB TROUGH COULD CREATE
ENOUGH INSTABILITY FOR A FEW SPARKS OF LIGHTNING. FORECAST
SOUNDINGS SHOW SATURATION ON FRIDAY WITH MOISTURE TRAPPED BENEATH
A STRONG TEMP INVERSION...SO FRIDAY IS LOOKING RATHER CLOUDY AND
COOL.
NEW ZONES OUT BY 10 AM.

THE HOUSTON METROPOLITAN AREA WILL RECEIVE A COLD RAIN FOR THE
NEXT 12-18 HOURS. THE THERMAL PROFILE DOES NOT SUPPORT SNOW BUT
THERE COULD BE A BRIEF WINDOW FOR RAIN AND SLEET AROUND SUNRISE
FRIDAY MORNING. 43
