See that .08" from the guage at I-45 & The Hardy? Yep...that's pretty much me. The outflow just exploded off to my south and east, leaving me with just a few showers. Looks like only a small portion of NW Harris into Montgomery County was left out of the fun (so far).

Raining harder now here in NW Harris County. I had a 10th of an inch early this morning before the complex moved in.

Wow! I just got home. Was hoping to get my errands done, but did not quite make it. I ditched the last one and headed for home. That short trek was really scarey. Roads were already starting to pond and it had only been raining for about 10-15 minutes.

Hi all,

Are we in for much more rain today? I need to either keep office open or shut her down for the day so people can get safely home. Office is located in Galleria and employees live as far north as the woodlands, Katy and southesat harris county.

Thanks!!!!!!!

I received 3 inches of rain overnight - at work now in downtown and it was dark as night here with rain coming down in sheets.

Looking like more forming back to the west - will it make it to SE Texas - will be the big question. Wet and soggy Friday and looks like again for tomorrow.

I guess now we just wait and see if the atmosphere re-energizes in time for the next wave to come through.

We will have to wait and see. Sun is poking out here in College Station and temps are starting to heat up but the atmosphere has been worked over pretty efficiently. The next "band of storms" (if we get another one) that come through probably won't be as strong but you never know.

Pretty sure we got more rain coming judging from radar out west.

FFW extended through the overnight.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES...FORT BEND...GRIMES...HARRIS...LIBERTY...
MONTGOMERY...POLK...SAN JACINTO...WALKER AND WALLER.

* THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

* AREAS ROUGHLY ALONG A LINE FROM CARLOS TO CRABBS PRAIRIE TO
RIVERSIDE TO MOSCOW RECEIVED BETWEEN 4 AND 7 INCHES OF
RAINFALL LATE THURSDAY. ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
CURRENTLY DEVELOPING IN WEST AND CENTRAL TEXAS ARE EXPECTED TO
MOVE INTO THE REGION TODAY.

* ANY ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WILL
QUICKLY RUNOFF AND CAUSE FLASH FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

I measured another 2.93" today, about half early morning and the rest around mid day. Total 20.4" for the year.

Several warnings out west already.

Well, the latest HRRR model runs appear to show a credible scenario for tonight with an area of showers and thundertstorms moving through the region after midnight and into the morning hours. The lower levels of the atmosphere took a pretty good wallop after all that severe weather we had this morning so I personally am not as worried about severe weather as I am about minor flooding given the huge amount of rain we had in the last 24 hours. Now, if you live in the costal counties, you might see daytime activity akin to what we Houstonians saw today as the surface boundary moves through the region.

How did I do, folks? Anybody agree with me?
