NWS didn't even get today's forecast right. It's cloudy with DPs in the 60s. No bueno.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:48 pmChristmas is often warm here, it’s not surprising. Winter hasn’t even started yet, plenty of time.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 8:51 pm This doesnt have anything to do with the PV split though , this is driven by a jet extension in the pacific and + EPO, Se ridging is showing up because of ridging in Scandinavia , just gotta hope we can get that - WPO ridge to slip in over Alaska, other wise it is going to be a truely miserable christmas in terms of temperatures

DoctorMu oh i was just explaining why we have the strong ridge in place, scandinavian ridging typically is an indicator that the SE ridge pops up and flexes, hopefully we get some better trends over the next week, other wise its going to be pretty nastyy for the holidays lol

Not always. Often the relationship is inversely related.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 2:31 pm DoctorMu oh i was just explaining why we have the strong ridge in place, scandinavian ridging typically is an indicator that the SE ridge pops up and flexes, hopefully we get some better trends over the next week, other wise its going to be pretty nastyy for the holidays lol

Looks like I will get to freezing with the wind blowing. Gonna have to pull my Ti plants and stick them in the garage tomorrow. I was hoping the yard would still be intact for the Christmastime visitors but we had a good run this year.

Social media warriors are the emotionally insecure losers in society. It’s why the only social media platform I am on is LinkedIn and if you want to include the weather forums, then I guess you could include that.
An EMP might be nice so we don’t have internet for several months so people can learn how to interact with each other again.

We'll few a few degrees below freezing tomorrow night. It wouldn't be a bad idea for the grass to go dormant and finally escape brown patch. But then again that Miami weather beginning next weekend may force me to buy and broadcast more Disease Ex.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:35 pmJust enjoy tomorrow and Monday if you like the cold weather. The front is finally through here with a slight northerly breeze and slowly descending DP. Enjoy the weather through about Wednesday!

Enjoying the A/C being off while it lasts until about Friday. Tomorrow and Tuesday look pretty nice - Sunny - mid 50s and 60s.
Another eastward bound cold front about the 20th. We still have Miami weather progged for next weekend and through Christmas.

Down here the cold is only gonna last today and tomorrow. Big warming trend begins on Tuesday. By Wednesday we’ll be back in the 70’s and Thursday close to 80°.

Im watching around new years as we get blocking retrograding back toward greenland which should lead to development of a -NAO signature, - PNA should relax, if anything i think we get more of a west coast based + PNA as we flip into 2026

+PNA is strong right now. That’s why this current cold blast is mainly going east of us. PNA will be a non factor the next couple weeks overall because it’s gonna be a coast to coast torch for most part after this current cold blast. If you want the cold to be aimed towards us, we would need the PNA to be close to neutral.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 14, 2025 12:45 pm Im watching around new years as we get blocking retrograding back toward greenland which should lead to development of a -NAO signature, - PNA should relax, if anything i think we get more of a west coast based + PNA as we flip into 2026
