No one is 'out of the woods', yet, singlemom. The storm system/Meso low is still slowing shifting E into the Metro Houston Area.

From the radar it looks like the main line is starting to expand some with moisture streaming in from the gulf.

If you don't leave early then you may not make it downtown. The squall line could reach downtown by 10, causing street flooding all over the area.

Jeff Update:

Tornado warning for northern Harris and Montgomery counties. Public reporting a tornado on the ground near Monaville moving NE at 40mph. Locations in the path of this tornado include: Tomball, Magnolia, and Conroe. Radar is showing a strong hook echo over extreme NW Harris County. This tornado is moving rapidly ENE and there will be little time from the point when dark clouds appears on the horizon and the tornado impacts a location. Seek shelter on the lowest floor of your location away from windows in an interior room. Cover yourself with blankets and pillows to protect from flying debris.

As several of you have mentioned, the southern portion of the line is really starting to get its act together with the cell just southeast of Rock Island in central Colorado county starting to show signs of rotation. Also the storm in Waller county that srain mentioned also showing signs of rotation. Could start to see warnings closer into the metro area over the next hour as the line moves in from the west.

We're noticing the rotation south of Columbus in Colorado County as well. It's a few hours to our west.
