Don't see any report out of IAH of quarter-sized hail. I do see the report of quarter INCH hail there. Also a gust to 47 kts (52 mph) at 5:01pm:

I had nickel-sized hail when the storm peaked about 45 minutes ago, and I wasn't under the center of the core. I would not be surprised if there was larger hail in the core. Also saw winds gusting in the 50-60 mph range at Hardy Toll Road & Riley Fuzzel about an hour ago.

As you would expect whent the two storm cells merged they created a lot of vertical motion and some intense rainfall. It appears the southeast-moving cell won the battle, and the overall mass will move towards Houston.
