I would suggest those ( and thanks so much Tyler) that still need understanding of this event to read Jeff's emails. They are clear, concise and to the point. The event was always supposed to be an evening event ( Thursday) into Friday morning. Only some hiccups in the models stated early afternoon. Everything is still on track. Thank you. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

They can get it wrong and it can still snow. If it is frozen rain, it would be a problem.

Thank you. On their discussion for tonight and tomorrow it just says freezing rain and sleet with no mention of snow now like it had before...I was assuming that meant no snow chance now...I apologize if I read more into that than necessary

I checked the WV loop also, the dry air from our west is encroaching on the area. Where exactly should be watching for devloping snow to our west? It's hard to beleive moisture, let alone snow is on the way looking at that massive swath of dry air encompassing much of central/west texas. just curious

Radar starting to fill in south near Brownsville, up to Corpus.

I was in the Metroplex for the Leon Lett T-day game, and there was thunder with the sleet.

I was delivering papers, on foot, not on bike, in a snowstorm (it changed to rain not too long after, not uncommon on Long Island, where 40-something water is all around) when there was a pink flash followed almost instantly by a boom, scared me rather severely.

Back in the day, when real pre-teens delivered the Sunday paper, all heavy and full of supplements, on foot in the snow...

.... and uphill .... both ways

maybe that one weather dude who said it was going to be a down south storm was right afterall

I have, I'm from New York state. It was pretty creepy in the middle of a freezing cold winter. Experienced sleet, freezing rain, blizzards, lake effect snow, wind chill way below zero. Countless snow storms.

AFM just spoke about this on other board. Said dry air was going to be too much to overcome. Said not to expect any mesoscale banding that was forecast. Sounds like a bust to me, and that's coming from a good met who's well respected. I'm out of here.

Now i am no meteorologist... but if there is one online right now that can explain how snow will form despite that dry air then i would like them to tell me to not be concerned.

this doesnt look good... :(

Those guys are "tv personalities." JMO, put I'd put more stock in what AFM, wxman, and Lindner say before Heller, Norman and KPRC Dude. BTW, Lindner still on board. Somebody's gonna be right, and somebody's gonna be wrong. We'll see.

Still, why would they report it if it was going to be a bust? TV personality or not they are not going to forecast something that has bust potential with this much hype with this little of time

from looking at the radar there is plenty of moisture heading into the beaumont/port arthur area to cause some serious problems
