My street is flooding right now here in the Heights.... Remember this is a multi day event and the forecast is likely to change quickly due to the mesoscale driven nature of the event. For example the storms moving through now were not even forcasted by most models as late as this morning....Like the last few days we really won't know how tomorrow will play out until, tomorrow. And that will be the case through Friday.

I am in Jackson county, southern portion, and the rain has been heavy for awhile now. We got plenty of rain Sunday so won’t take much to flood.

Very impressive that there is still plenty of convection around, after the heavy rain last night still getting rumbles of thunder also.We need to keep an eye on the disturbance this afternoon coming out of Mexico at the moment.

Alot of what will determine the strength of the storms later today will be by how quick the storms in the gulf dissipate. And allow a return flow of moisture from the gulf.If the storms take their time to dissipate the system later today will be weaker once it enters the area.If they dissipate quicker the storms later will have the potential to be stronger with a heavy rain threat. Like the last few days we will have to watch trends on the radar and mesoscale models today.

I dunno. It's rampaging down in Matagorda Bay right now.

No updates this AM from the local Mets.
I think there’s a lot of uncertainty about the rest of today which will obviously affect how tonight/tomorrow goes. Nobody is ready to walk the plank just yet - probably wait and see for a couple more hours.
I think the fact that the MCS pushed so far south and held together out in the Gulf threw a curveball.

It looks like an absolute maelstrom in South Texas. Is that our future if the stuff in the Gulf dissipates, I wonder?
