I've had lots of thunder and wind, but not that much rain. All the heavy stuff skipped around and over me.

Wind is picking up in Stafford, skies are getting darker and I am hearing some thunder. Just started raining, though lightly. We shall see if it picks up.

Beautiful storm downtown, with lots of rain (what I could see of it; I was in a long meeting with my back to the window). But there's clearing to the northeast that I can see from my office window. Is it just this one group, or will more be building?

That looks like the end of the rain for downtown. Not much to your north-norheast now.

Picked up 1.2 inches adding to the 0.54 I had last Saturday and 0.43. last Sunday in NW Harris County....

I really hate to see the dry season move in, but I guess it's on its way...
Still some good lightning strikes to the northeast in the lingering storm clouds...

Grateful the bay area was not ignored today before the "spigot" is turned off!
Got some very good rain and thunder. Can't complain.

Three major surges/power outages and internet out for awhile and minor flooding in my lab/office building, but yeah it was worth it!

Stuff submitted to the Feds and 3.6 in of delicious wetness for the yard.


I guess bring on the Death Ridge.

I'm glad most people got a soaking today. We will need it. I had a paltry .28" here with nothing the last few days...here we go into death ridge season.

The longer range guidance suggests about 10 days or so before rains return. We will see.

We just got a few drizzles in Stafford. At least the cloudiness and breeze cooled off the temps.

Its gonna be hotter than a fire cracka' on the 4th of July- so everyone, please be safe....and hydrate!

The longer range guidance is wrong. It's returned today.

Another tropical shower this afternoon in W League City. Picked up 0.67" with a 2 day total of 1.88". Well needed before the ridge builds into SE TX and dries us out for the 4th of July weekend and into next week.

Scattered showers and storms are dotting the Coastal waters this morning and expect some potential for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop along the seabreeze mainly along and S of the I-10 corridor with the heat of the day as the seabreeze works inland. Locations across our Northern tier of Counties look mostly hot and dry, but cannot rule out an isolated storm or two mainly NE of Metro Houston today.

Despite the recent action we are a little parched up here in the Woods. Ran the sprinklers last night.

develop inland this afternoon, but the bulk of the activity is
expected to remain offshore. No significant changes were made to

VFR. Most of today`s SHRA/-TSRA activity will be focused along
and south of I-10, or where the highest moisture and weak coastal
boundary reside. Another day of few-sct 030-050 cu/tcu with an
early day northeast-vrb breeze becoming more easterly then veering
southeasterly late in the day. Moderate chances for the return of
late period southern terminal light precipitation or isolated Friday
morning -TSRA. 31

DISCUSSION...
Some shower and isolated thunderstorm activity has developed near the
coast early this morning mainly in and around the Galveston Bay area
and further off to the east across the Texas and Louisiana coastal waters.
Models continue to indicate more development near and along the coast
during the remaining overnight and morning hours with activity possibly
spreading inland during the day. Made little change to the area`s rain
chances with lower values inland and higher values near the coast and
offshore. Still expecting decreasing rain coverage heading into the
holiday weekend as mid/upper level high pressure builds across the area.
Besides the near zero rain chances, this ridge will also bring gradually
warming temperatures to the area into next week with highs working their
way into the mid to upper 90s while lows possibly struggle to fall under
80 degrees. Still anticipating daily heat index values edging upward
into a 100-110 degree range beginning on Sunday, and we`ll be closely
monitoring these values for possible heat advisories. 42

MARINE...
A near non-existent pressure gradient over the local waters, along
with a weak offshore boundary and any passing shower or storm`s gust
front, will maintain these current variable breezes over sub 2 foot
seas through week`s close. Lowering western Texas pressures, in
relation with eastern Gulf high pressure, will tighten the weekend
onshore pressure gradient. Gulf southerlies will respond in
strengthening to caution levels early next week. Weekend 2-3 foot
seas will pick up to 4-5 foot seas/slightly choppy bays by Monday
(4th of July) and maintain at least 3-4 foot average heights through
next week. Enough atmospheric instability exists to keep moderate
shower and storm chances in place through tomorrow. A dry weather
pattern will commence Saturday with near nil precipitation chances
as regional high pressure at all levels asserts itself through the
holiday weekend. 31
