CPV17 I disagree the 12z EPS, GEFS and GEPS are still somewhat aggressive with it

On yesterday’s date, it got down to 5°F in Houston in 1930 which is the all time record low temperature. Never even knew it was cold in 1930. No one has ever mentioned it as far as I know.

Yesterday’s 12z Euro run had a 1050mb high. Today it was only like 1037mb, I believe. That’s what I was referring to.

At 203 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Spring, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Humble, Spring, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Splendora, Patton Village,
Roman Forest, Woodbranch, Splashtown, Porter Heights, northwestern
Bush Intercontinental Airport, Lake Houston, New Caney and Porter.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CST for
southeastern Texas.

Kingwood36 yep this is looking like a S Texas event, as i say we should move on , unless something crazy happens with this disturbance, SE Tecas is probably just gonna get cold rain

Lowered chances for Beaumont on wintry mix. Todays/tonights storms may be a doozy though. Winter weather does look to be a S Tx storm. Have fun. Our turn will come.

FWIW the 12z GFS by days 7-8 does develop another coastal Low and spread moisture inland though temps are in the low to mid 40’s, something to watch tho

Earlier today on S2K, 57 mentioned that the west Gulf lows have been very active this winter and because of that reason there could be an increased snow chance for us late January into February.

Well, it could be a little bumpy this evening. Be weather aware. The dynamics are there for gusty winds, frequent lightning and hail.
