Looks like that graupel was falling from the base of the clouds over 8000 feet up where it is below freezing. But it had to survive falling through 8000 ft of above-freezing air.

Any chance you guys can give me an idea of weather in Comstock, TX from around 3/1 to 3/4?
I'm hoping for some cold. How accurate are the weather channel and the NOAA forecasts at a week out?
Forgive me if I double posted this. I didn't see my prior post on it.

For now, it's looking warm Thu/Fri (70s to 80s). Cold front passes Friday evening and it's cool for the weekend. Nothing extreme, though.niner21 wrote:Any chance you guys can give me an idea of weather in Comstock, TX from around 3/1 to 3/4?

Gonna be tough to get into the upper 50's/low 60's today with heavy cloud cover and a northeast wind. I don't see the sun poking out at all today.

Last week I was in New Mexico. One day, in Santa Fe, it was 50 degrees outside with snow flurries. Granted, it's much higher and drier up there, but that's the warmest I've ever personally seen flurries.
