Whatever they may call it, its a RAINMAKER.
And I trust the NHC insights into calling its track correctly.
I've seen times where they stuck to their guns, and at the last minute were spot on
Than again, there was Humberto :o

Regardless of the status of this storm, there will be major flooding
he's a sloooooooow mover....
and I'm so happy people are truly paying attention.
And just hoping the disabled community is OUT of harms way over yonder.

Srain, anything new?

Um, no. It is not Southwest Texas State ...anymore.
Governor Rck Perry signed into law a bill (in 2003) changing the name of Southwest Texas State University to Texas State University-San Marcos. I'm pretty sure I know what school I go to. ;)

The NHC did not mention the western solution because.....it's not gonna happen. Pretty simple really.

I know I sure am loving this northerly breeze. Felt great outside this morning.

This is intertesting:
From HGX disco:
10 a.m.

ISAAC STILL PROGGED BY TPC TO MAKE LANDFALL OVER SE LOUISIANA. THE
12Z NAM IS TRENDING FURTHER WEST WITH ISAAC AND IT IS LOOKING MORE
AND MORE LIKE THE 00Z ECMWF. THERE COULD BE SOME SIGNIFICANT
CHANGES IN THE FORECAST PACKAGE THIS AFTN IF THE 12Z GFS SUPPORTS
THE THE 12Z NAM. THE NAM IS ADVERTISING THAT THE INFLOW FOR ISAAC
WILL COME THROUGH EAST/SOUTHEAST TEXAS ON THURSDAY NIGHT AND
FRIDAY. THIS BAND OF HIGHER MOISTURE COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANTLY
HIGHER RAIN CHANCES THAN IS CURRENTLY PROJECTED. THE CURRENT TPC
TRACK WOULD KEEP THE HEAVY RAIN AXIS EAST OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS. 43

it seems like every disco is a 1/2 step behind (which I guess it is), because this looks more NW than ever.

Better resolution, more frequent updates than SSD site. Gotta hit F5 now and then.
Should be a good game, hope you have a good time. It is our very first game of the season. Hoping we win this game before we get crushed by Texas Tech next weekend. :|

Anyway, I will stop with my non-related Isaac posts. :D

The 12Z GFS is a tad W of the 00Z run for what is worth...that model suggest a NW track resumes after moving near Lake Charles on into E Texas...

:?: Question: I know everyone keeps saying model watching at this point is pointless, but if this storm is still over water (at the moment) and these models (the most credible ones) are showing a westward trend....then would'nt they STILL have some sort of influence to the NHC and the track? ....Trying to learn here. Thanks

As NWS Houston/Galveston mentions, there very well could be...

THERE COULD BE SOME SIGNIFICANT
CHANGES IN THE FORECAST PACKAGE THIS AFTN IF THE 12Z GFS SUPPORTS
THE THE 12Z NAM.
