Yes, we just do summer league (for now). They swim for the Imperial Oaks Seals. My youngest is also in baseball, both spring and fall ball, and that's about all we can handle right now. I remember the first meet last year was chilly (50's in the AM) but every meet after that was hot. They have been really chilly at practice this year, purple lips and everything, and it takes a lot out of them. They are ready for the water to warm up.

Concerning...Severe potential...Watch unlikely

Probability of Watch Issuance...20 percent

SUMMARY...A severe storm or two -- with potential to produce hail
and/or locally damaging winds. WW is not anticipated at this time
due to anticipated limited coverage of risk.

DISCUSSION...Latest radar loop shows a cluster of thunderstorms near
and west of the SAT area, along a cold front moving steadily
southward across south Texas. Other, stronger cells are ongoing
well west of the Rio Grande over northeast Mexico -- where much
greater instability is observed.

With that said, the eastern extension of the axis of stronger
instability extends just across the river into Laredo/Cotulla area,
south of the ongoing storms. As the front advances southward into
this area, a couple of more vigorous storms may develop. While
shear remains somewhat modest across the area -- only marginally
supportive of mid-level rotation, some risk for hail and or damaging
winds may evolve locally late this afternoon and early evening.

Looks like everything fell apart and skated south of us, pretty much as expected. Onto next weeks’s system. It better not flake out on us, as we’re gonna need the rain!

The result is a bunch of slight chance and low end chance PoPs splattered
throughout the entire first half of the week. In other words...the
most recent XKCD comic (Number 1985, for posterity) is
disturbingly appropriate to my situation tonight and I`ll be
keeping my eye out for security for the rest of my shift...

Another more significant chance of rain looks to be on tap just
beyond the end of this forecast period. Guidance is very gung ho
on rain, and if this period were a part of the official forecast,
I`d undercut it significantly on PoPs. This is partly due to
range, and partly due to the underperformance of the last couple
of fronts. Let`s be honest, here - the nascent beginning of a
seabreeze pattern, some more spacing between fronts, more
underwhelming fronts, and the fact that it`s late April...We`re
not there yet, and there`s still some springtime to be had in the
coming weeks, but it`s time to brace yourselves, as summer is
coming.

A look back in remembrance. I so remember this day..the trip home from work listening to Paul Finebaum on Sirius XM ( who is now on ESPN Radio) and the errieness in the broadcasts ( he stated..we will be back ( going to commercial break), I hope to watching the tornado rip through Birmingham Alabama...

It was horrific. My parents and several generations before them are from the Birmingham and Cullman areas. I lived in Birmingham during my first year of college, and somehow hit the jackpot with the 1993 Superstorm. It was the first time the media started using the term "explosive cyclogenesis" and the first (and only) time I experienced thundersnow.

Anyway, I will never forget this day. It was pretty nerve wracking. Not long after, I flew into B'ham for a funeral and I could clearly see the tornado scars from the Tuscaloosa and Gardendale tornadoes. They looked like the "Finger of God" flyover scene from the movie Twister. It was amazing and yet so sad to see in person. Like most things, seeing it in real person versus a TV screen is completely different.

Incidentally - Paul Finebaum is great. I used to listen to his radio show in B'ham when it was still just a local show, and any ole' Billy-Bob calling in would get plenty air time. Then he hit the big time. One of the best sports commentators anywhere in all of broadcasting history - he is great!

Another Chamber of Commerce day - more like Spring in North Carolina than TX.

The last day of the month is here and it looks likely that SE Texas will end the month at all for Climo Reporting sites with below normal temperatures and below normal rainfall. Overall I would say that we had a fantastic month with the cooler than normal temperatures and generally lower humidity. Our electric Bills should reflect this actual Spring Like weather we've experienced.

Loved the temps but we needed more rain than what we got. Let's hope we can have decent rainfall in the month of May headed into the hot summer months.
