No hose in the pool today! Filled the pool up, almost too high! But we will leave it. More drizzle here in Stafford. I don't have a rain gauge, but pool was a good 2" down.
0.65 inches of rain at TAMU and the airport, but a bit disappointing 0.25 in IMBY with the new rain gauge when I got back home.

So far, I've measured .44" as it winds down. I'm very grateful for the rains of the past couple of days. A week ago, it looked like this wasn't going to happen. Maybe we can get some sea breeze storms as we transition to summer.

High clouds have limited fog development this morning with only a
few patches of fog showing up in satellite imagery. A few showers
were noted along the coast moving inland. GOES 16 precipitable
water imagery shows 1.7-1.8 inches of PW which should support
mainly scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. These values are
a little lower than yesterday but weak upper trough still remains
over the area. There may be some MVFR ceilings to develop later
this morning but those ceilings should increase with day time
heating. Look for convection to initiate 15-17Z today and last
through the evening. Convection will be outflow dominated and
pulse type. There could be some 30-40kt wind gusts in some of the
stronger storms but will need to amend TAFs for that possibility.
Confidence still low enough to keep VCSH in TAFS and then update
accordingly.

east over the central Gulf Coast states, but we can`t rule out

cyclone formation over the eastern Gulf for the weekend. We will
continue to monitor forecast data and updates from NHC, but most
likely if there are any impacts it will be higher seas.

Tuesday morning briefing from Jeff:
Air mass over SE TX remains moist and unstable this morning and expect another rough of late morning-afternoon showers and thunderstorms today. Main focus will be along the seabreeze front and any leftover overflow boundaries from yesterday. Think highest chances are around Matagorda Bay and SW of the Houston area. Although moisture has lessened some over the last 24 hours, brief heavy rainfall will still be a primary threat with a few isolated locations seeing 1-2 inches of rainfall in a short period of time while other nearby areas may see nothing.
Upper ridge builds out of MX Wednesday and this will reduce rain chances further with any focus being along the afternoon seabreeze front. Overall a typical summer pattern through the end of the week.
Tropical Disturbance 90L:
A trough of low pressure across the western Caribbean Sea remains disorganized this morning as it slowly moves westward toward the coast of Belize. This feature is forecast to lift NNW to N out of the western Caribbean Sea and into the SE Gulf of Mexico later this week where it will interact with a developing upper level low/trough over the central Gulf of Mexico. This will be a complex interaction and it is unclear how or even if a surface low center will develop. It is not uncommon to see such systems develop in the Gulf of Mexico this time of year and a tropical or sub-tropical system can form given the forecasted pattern by this weekend over the central and eastern Gulf of Mexico. At this time all global forecast guidance keeps any system that forms east of TX with possible impacts across FL and the central/eastern US Gulf coast.
The National Hurricane Center currently gives the feature a 40% chance of development over the next 5 days

[code]copied textI think storm coverage will be pretty good today. Radar showed a good amount of showers offshore this morning, indicating gulf moisture will be good as it streams inland. We don’t have a cirrus canopy, so we should get ample sunshine to really heat things up. Plus we are already seeing things bubble on satellite and radar on the south/southeast side closer to the coast.
Anyone else notice the little over the water off Matagorda Bay. Was just playing around with GOES 16 views and saw it. Interesting little feature.
I'm already up to 90F - warmer than anything the last couple of days.
Cell tried to get going near the house and collapsed. So who knows...
I see that the weather God's hate Rosharon for 3 days in a row now.
Nothing here in Stafford. Though did have a brief shower when I was at the dentist earlier this afternoon in the Braeswood area, some lightning bolts too! But rain lasted a grand total of about 5 minutes. Was interesting as I sat in the car, the back side was just cloudy with lots of clear sky, but in front of me was totally dark with lightning bolts and thunder.
