Precipitation looks to be developing near Victoria and should meet up with the precipitation coming in from the west.

I was hearing 5 to 9 inches and it suddenly went from 1 to 3 on multiple platforms with Travis Herzog saying it was going to glance Northwest. I apologize for asking for ya’ll’s opinion and certainly won’t do it again.

It's how it is for every storm lol. People get on and call bust before it even gets started. The 1-3 inches of snow across most of the region still looks likely. Further southwest you go chances do go down but I suspect at least some snow for them too.

This isn't an attack on you Ace or anyone in particular. It's just a general observation on what happens during every system especially winter systems. I think 1-3 inches widespread has always been the forecast for most across Houston with higher totals likely to the north. Could some localized areas see 5 to 9? Sure.

I don't think anything was directed at you specifically. I hear what you are saying though. It does seem like the change over to snow is painfully slow. If we are going to get those totals we've been seeing on the models, we aren't going to have long to do it.

Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. I apologize if I came off as not promoting that type of atmosphere here that was not my intent. Trust me I will be just as disappointed as anyone else here if we don't see any snow.

I’ll be pulling an all nighter for sure. It’s not often around here in the city of Houston that we have opportunities for accumulating snow.

Well folks, I’m about to layer up and head outside! It’s about to be a blizzard here and temps are plummeting. Almost down into the teens here now and wind chills are about 5 to 10 degrees! The snow is right on my doorstep and I’ve been waiting my whole life for this moment! We’ve had snow here before but nothing like this! This will be near blizzard conditions!

Love seeing those plumes coming in from the Gulf to Corpus and merging with the system out in San Antonio as it fills in the radar moving ever closer in our direction. It’s coming folks.

I just ventured outside for a bit. My gosh - that wind. Cuts right through you. Hoping we can get to all snow soon. After all this - come on now!

Enjoy it Cpv! I was out late this afternoon walking the dog and with the wind, it already had the feel of being on a snow covered mountain.

Hard to tell but it does look like light snow/mist here in NW Houston.

Fascinating to watch the snow wall out west heading in our direction. What I have circled in blue under the mesoscale discussion is what I'm watching. Currently all snow and will be interesting to see if the intensity of it holds as it pushes ENE. If you have radarscope, you can play it from the KEWX radar and this would move right over much of Houston metro between 2-5am.

Also, it's really juicing up out there and the winds are fierce.

Radar shows there should be something falling where i am but I looked out and didn’t see anything falling. When is the heart of the snow supposed to fall? Woodlands near Budde rd.

It's filling-in, but the big snow wall is a couple of hours away.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that it's 22F outside, it's snowing, and the wind is howling. I didn't think I would see this in my lifetime.
