Get ready for 50's for the north and central portions of se tx and 60's for coastal areas the next couple mornings and lower to mid 80's for highs! Humidity and dew point values are dropping all over the area and with north breezes no chance of rainfall/storms. It will warm up a bit by the end of the week with a reinforcement this upcoming weekend.

It's been blowing from the north all day, so it's not going to change any direction. This is just the leading edge of the cooler, drier air that has lagged behind the initial wind shift or "prefrontal trough"

I can tell you with 100% certainty it was. There was not one ob around SE TX today with a wind direction of any other variant but from a northerly direction. For instance, right on the coast in Galveston the wind has been out of the north all day with a wind speed between 10 to 15 mph.

You are just noticing it more now because of the increase in wind speeds this evening as the actual cold front has passed. Either that or the wind flow around your flag is obstructed by trees, other buildings, or something. That could create an artificial wind direction if wind speeds are light

Feels good outside. That is for sure. You can feel the lack of humidity.

Dewpoints were in the 60s all day, so you could definitely feel the change already

GFS has a low of 55 tommorow night. Another strong push of cool air for next weekend. That cold front could dive some folks into the upper 40s if things hold. No chance for rain in the foreseeable future

Noticed at HGX has an interesting forecast for tonight.
Shows Houston 3-4 degrees warmer than any other city near.
Has me here in Dickinson at 53, yet 58 in Houston..
Usually the other way around.

NWS considering the "urban heat bubble" when forecasting this year?
