We peaked at 104° out here in the boonies. That’s just going by what The Weather Channel app says. I don’t have a thermometer here. When I check other places on that app it’s usually a few degrees cooler than what you guys are reporting at your location so it could be warmer here too I suppose.

I peaked at 105 here in Richmond.

Luckily for me I have a lot less concrete around me. I’m literally surrounded by cattle pastures and crops.

110 for the high here. It’s still 108. Some nearby stations are at 109 and one is still 111 closer to the Grand Parkway.

It is 104 in Spring Texas with no possible rain in sight. I will take anything at this point. I am using my irrigation system every night 2 times a day.

There's something weird with the HGX radar. Nothing was showing up at first, just blue/green blobs — then suddenly, the full storm cell models (complete with the yellows/reds and such) magically appeared.

Also, there's a strange curse happening, consistent with what Jasons2k is describing. Look at the cell lines along the incoming boundary — notice how the gap (so far) is present specifically in the Houston viewing area, with coverage to the east in Louisiana, and then farther west in South/Central Texas around Uvalde/Del Rio (!!!)

The thing about the weather patterns seen here so far is that they literally defy all logic. It's like things just happen for the sake of happening. Honestly, any form of summer drought is literally illogical when you factor in the large bathtub that is the Gulf of Mexico.

That said, "so far" applies because the line could fill as the boundary edges southward. Especially if the sea breeze collision factors in.

We may get our wish in Beaumont. Temp was 99 30min ago and now its as dark as night with the major temp drop right before a very strong storm cell entering Beaumont. So dark the street lights are on. Temp is currently 77. No rain yet but its about to fall out any minute.

Officially, it looks like a degree short of the all time CS record, but today was much worse than Sept 4, 2000, which I remember well. The DP was in the upper 50s on that date and the September sun angle was far lower than the first half of July.
