Finally some rain.
0.41” so far and tapering off. I’m grateful for what I got but would love to get a big red cell right over me for a change.

At 5:12, I received a text from HCFWS that White Oak Bayou @ Fairbanks North Houston recorded 1.0 inch of rain in 15 minutes.
I can attest to this as I was driving on Fairbanks during that time.

Its early, but we need to keep a watchful eye this weekend IMO, the Euro has been very consistent in developing a cut off low that slowly drifts south over the state through next week , as a result the euro has some pretty hefty rain fall totals to our west 10-15+ inches in the hill country, the GFS has the same energy over the state, but its much weaker so the totals are not nearly as high as the Euro, just something to watch

Huntsville again in the middle of the arena with no rain to show. Glad this a multi-day system. I have had .45 since June first. Nothing bigger then .20 at a time. :(

I got some cloud cover, wind and thunder. A few sprinkles but not even enough to measure on my gauge. Hopefully that’ll change over the next few days.

Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
800 PM EDT Thu Aug 18 2022

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. Southwestern Gulf of Mexico:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are associated with a tropical
wave located over southeastern Mexico that is expected to emerge
into the Bay of Campeche tomorrow morning. Environmental conditions
appear favorable for additional development, and a tropical
depression could form while the system moves northwestward over the
southwestern Gulf of Mexico on Friday or Saturday. However, by
Saturday night, the system is expected to move inland over
northeastern Mexico, which will end its chances of development. An
Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to
investigate the system tomorrow, if necessary.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.
