December 2022
I haven’t heard his thoughts yet on December. Maybe someone else has.Iceresistance wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 11:01 pmWhat about POW on Ponder? Cold as usual?Cpv17 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 10:30 pmThere’s a guy on YouTube that goes by the name Weatherman Plus that said he thinks mid to late December will be warm because the AO is forecasted to go positive. Don’t really know how much stock I put into that because I’ve heard it will be cold from just about everywhere else.Iceresistance wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 9:08 pm The CFS is consistent with an active pattern for mid to late December.

Ryan Hall Y'all has definitely settled down since last year, he does admit that he does like to get crazy excited for snow. His 6-7 foot snowfall forecast near Buffalo, NY verified.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 11:04 pm Cpv17 weatherman plus is a joke, ive seen this dude make videos on the GFS showing phantom hurricanes like 14 days out, he overhypes things alot, POW ponder on weather is much more reliable

I was a high school freshman at Pearland and it was a very chilly Christmas. A brief summary from Space City Weather:
December 1983
Coldest temperature: 11° on 12/25
Nights at or below freezing: 12, including 11 in a row to close the month.
The December 1983 cold wave was another hall of fame event for Houston. We closed the month with 11 straight mornings below freezing, including four full days that failed to crack above 32 degrees.

The GFS is already starting to show signs of a very cold airmass moving into the US during the first week of december, im putting my stock into a colder than normal December for many folks, possibly here as well
December 1983 was very cold. It is one of the coldest Decembers recorded for most of America, including Texas.

He does a good job when connecting with storm chasers when there is severe weather. Haven't tuned in for winter mischief streams.Iceresistance wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:10 amRyan Hall Y'all has definitely settled down since last year, he does admit that he does like to get crazy excited for snow. I was up in the mountains of NC in Dec 1983. Man, was it cold! 10-20°F below zero at night. 10°F during the day but the sun was out.Ptarmigan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:27 pmDecember 1983 was very cold. It is one of the coldest Decembers recorded for most of America, including Texas.

The MJO determines the temps? Putting that simply.
Thank you!
December 1983 was a moderate La Nina. Earlier in 1983 was a strong El Nino.
