A day late Merry Christmas everyone!
It looks like most of the rain this week will be east of us.

Thank you. At least in the city of Houston, we’ll be well above seasonal temps, with at least four days reaching 74-75 F, which is 10+ degrees warmer than the average high this time of year.

Today was a Chamber of Commerce day - 60°F and crystal clear skies.
We have another winner tomorrow. Then return flow, showers and humid for a couple of days...followed by drier weather, but still 10°F above normal.

Looks like we could have a few rounds of rain over the next 10 days or so but the models have it really blowing up once these systems get towards LA and points east of there. We’re kinda on the edge of it. We’ll see if it trends back west or not.
Gonna be a WET few days in Beaumont. Models keep going higher and now forecasting up to 4”+ is possible.

More seasonal temperature. Every time it gets cold, it warms up.
Some big cold blasts like in December 1989 give way to milder winters. Same goes with February 1895 and February 1899.
I am not saying it will happen this winter.

Hope everyone that likes colder weather enjoys this morning because it’s the last one we’re gonna see for a while. Possibly for a few weeks.
Decent shot of rain on Thursday still?
I sure would like to split the difference between our Christmas Eve weather and today's. 60 degree temperature diff and rising.

yeah the next few weeks look pretty boring in the weather world, but winter is just getting started, getting a good laugh reading folks comments all over social media saying our winter is over just because we are entering a warmer pattern, looks like a SSWA takes place in about a week, meaning sometime after January 15th or so its going to get cold around here again
Edit: These 70’s for highs are going to suck big time!

Today, I sat outside on my patio, overlooking the pool, wearing shorts and a T-shirt. It was glorious. Not too hot, and not too cold. Can’t understand why anyone would complain about that. I’ll take this over freezing weather or over heat waves anytime! Happy New Year!

Because 70’s for highs and lows in the upper 50’s to low 60’s is spring weather not winter IMO, absolutely disgusting lol, this warm up cant be gone soon enough
I don’t care what the calendar says, it’s pleasant outside and I’ll take it no matter what month it is. Enjoy it while it lasts.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 12:45 am Because 70’s for highs and lows in the upper 50’s to low 60’s is spring weather not winter IMO, absolutely disgusting lol, this warm up cant be gone soon enough
I think a lot of us prefer to experience 4 seasons but unfortunately southeast TX isn’t the place for that.jasons2k wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 9:48 amI don’t care what the calendar says, it’s pleasant outside and I’ll take it no matter what month it is. Absolutely disgusting weather. NWS has the city hitting 80F today, 79 on New Years, and 78 on Jan. 2. I’ve lived here for 45 years, and there is absolutely nothing normal about us being in the 80s/near 80 for so many days in December and into January. Not saying it’s never happened, but it’s definitely not the norm or something to be expected here.
