Yeah, Anderson-Iola is probably the place to go if you go north and still want to be somewhat close to commerce.

Uncle has 2,000 acres in Pipe Creek. Gorgeous area.

Larry Cosgrove has a new update titled….

Arctic Air oozes southward…

Between Cosgrove, Thomas Chisholm, Noll, Maue and some of my more regional climate follows, it looks like December 10 through Christmas will be below normal, with what’s looking like a nice Arctic spell the 17th-Christmas.

Of course Bastardi is on board, but I’ve never not known Bastardi to be screaming cold around this time of year.

Global models are still iffy on if the cold air manages to get far south, guess we will see how this evolves over the next week or so

There’s pretty good agreement on the first front around the 9th-10th. That gets us to a bit below average, but I’m really looking at that 15th-17th range when the big pot of Arctic air starts to descend on the plain states.

I’ve never quite seen so much agreement amongst Pro Mets past 10 days. Looking at our recipe for cold down here and the current ingredients in the short to mid term, it looks highly likely we will stay below normal for a while once we get past Friday of next week.

Agreed, family has land out in Bandera County (Medina area) and it's amazing. Just have to water the garden, that's about it. The less rain, the less they need to cut the few weeds that grow where the rocks aren't there and that is few and far between lol..

Yeah I’m still not sold yet. Trying to temper my expectations and be realistic about it.

That’s good man. I haven’t looked at the models much past couple days. About to watch POW Ponders new video here in a few.

Anderson has hills. Occasionally, they see a sea breeze storm in the summer that College Station does not. Just looked it up. Anderson is just 15-20 mi from CLL, but gets 6 more inches of rain (46) a year on average.

That drive on Hwy 16 is one of the best in Texas. The Hill Country in all its glory.

It’s finally looking like the ensembles are eroding the SE ridge in the medium to long range.

Next 8 days look disgusting, so back to indoor cardio for me.

Ready to breathe the clean, fresh air again in 9 days.

haha That was EXACTLY my reaction. The forecast is even worse than yesterday for December. These high dewpoint periods (>60°F) in November and December. They were far more rare 20-30 years ago.

I believe this first initial shot of arcitc air does help to chip away at the SE ridge, with each trough digging down, the SE ridge gets eroded a little more, I suspect it will be squashed at the end of the 8-10 day period

The fact that the phrase "SE Ridge" is in a December Wx thread is not a good thing.

One of the consequences is the risk of severe weather next week in LA, MS, AL, TN, etc.
