Its so frustrating to have such a huge moisture source in the gulf of mexico so close to you, but yet its so dry and hot here, so close yet so far🤬

The moisture from the Gulf doesn’t really come here. It goes more towards LA and east of there into FL.

Yea, I think that's the point Stratton was getting at: to be at such proximity, only for the beneficial effects to avoid us all.

Though the frequency of 70°F+ dewpoints demonstrates that the surface-level moisture obviously is not lacking in comparison to those eastern locales.

On the bright side, that radar right now is EXACTLY what I'd like to see every summer day (at minimum): a range from more widely scattered to larger coverage complexes/tropical systems on drier and wetter days (respectively), just as long as there's SOMETHING on the radar daily.

It’s about to be sitting right on top of me. It’s raining now and lots of thunder. The heaviest will be here in a few. Thank you weather Gods and the sea breeze for finally working

Pretty wild storm, windy as hell. Rain was literally sideways but I’ll take the quick half inch!

It looks to be mainly skipping over your area. Outflow?

Not at all, .52” so far IMBY. It was dumping sideways for a good 10-15 min. It’s still coming down decently, but it’s bright like the sun will be out soon .. yuck. Can’t complain though, needed the rain

It's indeed glorious: it just went right through me, and the rainfall was almost an inch (.83) based on Sugar Land airport's data!

All that said and done, Texas is still cursed unless this type of activity continues for the rest of summer (or, at least, if we avoid what happened for the past three weeks).

It's good to see the seabreeze again. It won't make it up to CLL - maybe an outflow boundary.

We're 94°F, 68°F DP, and clouds. It feels like the arctic compared with last week.
