And when srain chimed in, you knew to pay attention
srainhoutx wrote: Thu Jan 18, 2024 6:43 pm So you folks have a meandering low caught up in a Sub tropical Jetstream pumping in deep tropical moisture from Hawaii in winter. That typically means the possibility of very heavy rain and storms. Don't sleep on this event.

I believe mcheer said someone would definitely get 10”+ when people started to question the strength of this system.

How is the rain chance looking today? I seem to recall some models had one more round coming through.

Not too concerned with the rainfall event to start out February just yet.

Should see some showers between 2pm and midnight. Clears out after that with a gusty north wind.

1.00” just now and still pouring. Now at 7.75” in 5 days. I Will enjoy it cause we may be begging for it come summer time. Anything to help our drought.

All this rain is just making a mess at this point. Any additional for the next couple of weeks is not going to make any beneficial difference as everything is completely soaked through.

I would be perfectly fine with no rain for the next couple of weeks, glad the drought is likely gone for most areas, but my yard cant take anymore rain, rivers are swollen if not going out of their banks in some areas, need that sunshine and dry weather to return please!

Don't worry y'all, after today we will have a break. While saying that the more rain we get this winter/spring the better odds of a cool and wet Summer. We gotta remember we live in a subtropical climate, and heavy rain is normal here. The droughts of the last several years may have given people a different perception though.😉
