GFS trends toward CMC solution. In Houston, highs would be in the 40s with a cold rain. Light freeze north of Houston.

Yep, just chilly, wet, and dreary for awhile. Nothing unusual for February.

This weekends rain event isn’t really looking like much for most of us. Next weekend has my attention though.

It is not over until it is over or until the fat lady sings.

Winter has been over for like 3 weeks already. The blast furnace will be back before we know it.

So much for a rainy Saturday. I thought I’d be cleaning the house but instead I’m doing yard work.

I picked up .18” overnight. Looks like that’s it till probably Friday. I thought maybe I could squeeze out half an inch this weekend but nope, couldn’t even get that. That’s okay though! We don’t need any rain here for a while. Models and the CPC forecast are calling for more rain though starting around Friday. Next weekend could be a wet one. Certainly looks wetter than this weekend.

Got .09" here in Cypress, and I'm fine with that. My yard is still too waterlogged to take anymore.

Wow, mid month approaching fast and only 7 pages for the February thread! Nothing interesting on the horizon? I thought February was going to be a humdinger! Boring so far!

Good trends in terms of warmer weather. Winter freezes are totally useless here, given that they are mere handfuls on average compared to 365 days.

That said, the Feb10 12z EURO operational did show quite a chilly solution. Let's see if that was a trend (though the EPS 12z wasn't exactly in line).

User:null they are not totally useless, freezes wipe out mosquito infestations and other pests that can cause damage to crops ( as long as its not a hard freeze crops and plants can benefit from this

That is one bad cell approaching Huntsville.

Fun fact: Alaska has some of the worst mosquitoes of any place.

Models today are trending away from any rain for this week and next week.

I was never high on rain this weekend. There wasn’t enough consensus amongst all the models and the WPC had almost nothing south of I-10.
