0.2 inches. At least the lawn is green.
It feels like Louisiana out there, Pas Bon. 87°F; no wind; 72°F dewpoint.
Lol. Yep
I grew up about 30 miles south of Lafayette. It’s swamp *** season April-November there. Lol
This afternoon I was on a quest to find non-frozen Gulf shrimp form some shrimp creole. After Beryl, HEB stocked more and more nasty previously frozen shrimp...and the nice brown jumbo Gulf shrimp have been completely disappeared. Evidently, store stock is coming from Temple now instead of Houston or San Antonio. Kroger's shrimp looked even more decrepit. We don't have a Fiesta Mart in Aggieland. The two fish markets in B/CS evidently closed during COVID.
So... I can't find fresh seafood anywhere in this freakin' cowtown! You'd think we were a 1000 miles from the Gulf or ocean. And our barbecue should be a lot better. The guy with the best grill in town (1975) closed shop after last summer - it was so hot.
I'm strongly considering knocking off work early tomorrow and taking a road trip to Huntsville and the closest fish market. Otherwise, I'm barbecuing some chicken with a gochujang marinade and sauce tomorrow night.
My point is that I dropped by Tad's restaurant in town which has sort of Louisiana food - the crawfish in season aren't bad. I asked where their seafood shipments came from. Evidently they ship it from Lake Charles or Youngsville, LA - close to your old stomping ground.
I went to a wedding in New Iberia once and dated a girl from Abbeville back in the day. My wife's dad is from the Baton Rouge area - she's an LSU grad. He worked for Exxon/Esso/Standard Oil in Texas and NOLA for 35 years.
Good stuff
I’m from Abbeville. Born and raised.
By the way, best boudin you can find is at a regional grocery chain around those parts called Nunu’s. You’re welcome. Lol

Nunu's is the very best. Getting a few packs tomorrow.
Being on the north side of this coastal trough feature and all of the clouds around, it may be a fairly dry day today. Glad I got a couple of good bands yesterday!
While there has been good storm bands so far this week, I still want more rain. Hence, if the Houston area does not get any rain for these last two August days, then I will abandon all these weather forecasters. With the exception of NWS, all of them suck. Keep hyping rain events that always just go to Louisiana (I'm tired of that place getting all the rain, its sickening).
So much for the heavy rain today in Setx. As usual anything forecasted for SETX ends up in Louisiana. Location has been 90% for two days and I dont think Ive gotten enough to make a puddle.

The forecast is getting weaker and weaker - the rain is Bayou bound until possibly Labor Day itself.
folks yall will see some rain, lets relax lol, this heaviest will be near the coast, but that doesnt mean further in land cant see several inches , heck im about 100 miles in land from the coast and ive seen 4 inches over the last two days, whether you get a heavier cell over you is a big question, I will say though we dont want a coastal low forming because that could essentially just rob all of the moisture from coming ashore

Here's the correct figure. The embedding html function has gone haywire.
Click and dragged in...
As long as it doesn’t make me sick, I’m fine with lower humidity and temps. Personally, I don’t really have much of a problem with the temps right now as long as the clouds stay around.
