Being that the meteor shower was just a few days ago, meteor activity should be higher than usual...don't doubt that you did indeed see one.

There was the Geminid meteor shower, one of the biggest ones of the year besides Perseids and Quadrantids. Quadrantids are coming up next month.

Not quite on topic but a total lunar eclipse will be visible Monday night/Tuesday morning around midnight peaking about 2:30 am. I hope the returning gulf clouds break enough to see it!
