I'm planning to head to Kilgore\Longview on that Monday so I'm rather i...

Re: Extreme Wildfire Danger: Texas Wildfires
I just read on another forum where burning ash and leaves are falling near Pinehurst and 149 on the East side of 249. As I live on the other side of Kuykendahl I'd like to know if it's progressing that way. I heard it was near Hooks airport last night. If the northern and southern fires merge around...

Veteran at 1960 area, smoke North through East. Is there a new fire I-45 and 1960? Satellite suggests it might be Houston County fire, unless something new has started recently. dtswildfire says it's around Hafer Road near 45 and 1960: http://tx.dtswildfire.com/ (it takes a long time to load. I'll tell you one thing ... the Austin news media (outside of KLBJ radio) has really blown coverage on this. I'm getting much better, more current information on the fires via Twitter and via the Texas Storm Chasers Facebook page than from Austin TV stations (who are showing hours old video). Agree...

Re: Troipcal Storm Lee: S of Louisiana
Rain has just begun at our house which is very close to 45 in Spring. Nothing spectacular but anything falling from the sky in a liquid form is a miracle at this point. I'm really worried about trees around our house and our foundation so here's hoping more is on the way.
