Re: Troipcal Storm Lee: S of Louisiana
Not trying to be funny here, but is Lee starting to move west? Looking at radars, it's pretty clear cut to me that the bands are indeed moving west. But, it'd be our luck that all the outer bands in the world could be forcing their way towards Houston and the death ridge will set up a road block at...

Re: TD 13 Western/Central Gulf of Mexico
Would I assume that the bright spots down south on the Water Vapor imagery would be the possible center reforming or is that the original center?

Re: TD 13 Western/Central Gulf of Mexico
I'm way back on page 22\23 and catching up on the day's posts. Guys, I want to stop and say "thanks" for being one of (if not) the best and coolest weather forums out there. I swore earlier today that I was just going to stop watching the models and reading discussions as it's kinda like w...

Re: August Weather Discussion
Man, the storm came within an inch of my house....lightning and thunder to the immediate west....and then it actually made a blank horseshoe around us. Maybe two drops of rain. Can't believe it. I see this happen all the time..like there's a special branch of the Cockroach Ridge right over 45. *sigh...

Re: ATL: Invest 90L - Texas Hurricane Threat?
In terms of 18Z models, I'm assuming that it's "flip flop model" time, since the models seem to be pointed toward the Mexico border again? I'd be careful re: track models at this point. The spread seems to be in 2 camps. One for the Middle TX Coast and the other further S near Brownsville...

Re: July: Sea Breeze Showers Popping Over Houston!
Wow! What a downpour here in Spring! Well over an inch of rain as well. Only downside is that we had continuous power surges and blackouts, but after being missed on so man pop up showers it was soooo nice to finally get some sustained rain! :D PS: Cub Scout Day Camp.....*shakes head* the kids were ...

Re: 2011 NATL Hurricane Season: Models Hint Development
Consensus is building regarding developing a storm in the Bay Of Campeche. The global models all develop a system. Some are stronger and the Euro is a touch weaker. What will need to be monitored is the area of disturbed weather in the Central Caribbean and the SW Caribbean the next couple of days....

Wouldn't you know it....we have Scout camp scheduled for the last week of June. Of course, that probably means "drought: more of the same." lol

Thanks for posting that data! I'm having a hard time comparing current conditions vs. your excellent data as it's zoomed in. Can you give me a reference point?
Thanks again

Re: June- Extreme Heat Breaks the Cap!
I am the one who came up with the term "Cockroach Ridge". It refers to anything that deprives us of rain and gives us drought, either high pressure or warm and dry air aloft. I call it the cockroach ridge because it is annoying like a cockroach. The vermin that runs around the house and y...

Re: June- Extreme Heat Breaks the Cap!
You'll be happy to know that the Cockroach Ridge (tm) has taken up residence over 45 in Spring. I've watched storm after storm go allll around us of late. PS Inquiring friends want to know if there really is such as thing as a "Cockroach Ridge?" They've thrown out everything from "it'...

And is the Low still to the west of West Texas, and will the move through as well? Thanks! *Edit* Baseballdude answered my question (Pretty mu...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning
Frozen car but wet (not frozen) sidewalks and pretty dry streets here in Spring (near SplashTown). I'm confused, but holding on to the concensus here that it's still a ways off...and it's coming....though not the Icepocalpyse that we were thinking. Right? *Edit* "Ah!" Andrew chimed in with...

Has anyone seen soundings from this morning? Is it looking more like a NAM solution (sadly, sadly, sadly)...as in maybe an inch?
