Yep, two in January and one in February. It is on the front page of HGX NWS today. January 11, 1973 was the first of three rounds in 1973. I was 7 years old and remember very well

I’ve heard stories of 73 and 77-78 winters. My father played a football playoff game in heavy snow in 1977. I kinda remember, vaguely, the ‘83 December and I certainly remember ‘85 and ‘89.

Hey gang, we need your help. Andrew has been paying the bills to keep the Forum up and running for the past year due to no donations. Please take a moment and make a contribution to keep Weather Infinity up and running. A 5 or 10 Dollar donation will help, but please consider a monthly reoccurring contribution to keep the Forum up and running smoothly. Thanks Gang!!

The 1997 ice storm is the most significant winter storm SE Texas has seen in the last 30 years.I lived in Humble at the time. There were thunderstorms with heavy rain with temps below freezing. We received around 1 inch of ice accumulation and were without power for a day. Some areas saw enough accumulation for large branches to fall and cave roofs.
Anyway 0Z NAM. The coastal low the models are now developing could enhance precip here. And lead to a higher end event than what is expected at the moment. Something to watch...
